Job Description

The organisation is a key supplier of armoured vehicle tracks and a name synonymous with technical expertise and quality in the sector of armoured fighting vehicles. A key supplier to the Armed Forces of tracks for battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personnel carriers and specialised armoured support vehicles such as engineer vehicles and armoured vehicle launched bridges.

The Chief Executive is seeking someone with an excellent knowledge of tank tracks to take up the new role of Technical Sales Manager although the job title is up for renegotiation.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside the Chief Executive of this expanding company to assist in growing the business.

Currently production of the tank tracks is done under a licence arrangement in Europe but that is likely to change in the next two years when it is intended that the manufacturing will move to the UK.

A detailed job description is not available at this stage as the Chief Executive remains open minded as to the likely candidate’s background in terms of technical and business development skills. A job description will be formulated based on utilising the strengths of the successful candidate.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will almost certainly have served in the Armed Forces (e.g. REME - Royal Mechanical and Electrical Engineers or in the RLC - Royal Logistic Corps) and will have in-depth knowledge of tank tracks.

The Chief Executive is open-minded as to whether the successful candidate has been an Officer or whether they are a former Non Commissioned Officer. What is more important to them is your level of technical expertise and knowledge of armoured vehicle tank tracks and your personal attributes.

The company seeks someone with the typical characteristics associated with ex-military personnel - dynamism, loyalty, integrity and a ‘can do’ nature.

You will be well presented, numerate, have excellent presentation and communication skills, be able to communicate at all levels, be decisive and persuasive.

A full driving licence is a prerequisite as there will be a requirement for travel throughout the country at different times.

The position is home based although the Head office of the company is situated in the North of England.

Salary Package

Basic salary up to £55,000

Car or car allowance is provided

Reasonable expenses and fuel covered

The role is home based although there will be travel to the trials of equipment and to visit clients both in the UK and Europe.
