Job Description
Role Purpose
Head of the Quality Department, reporting directly to the General Manager. The appointed person will have the total responsibility for Quality at site.
Personal Protective Equipment
Ensures that all staff has the PPE appropriate to the tasks as directed by Hygiene Procedures.
Makes the arrangements necessary to replace any defective PPE.
Heath & Safety
Has an understanding of H&S
Follows the correct procedures in reporting of all Accidents and 'Near Misses'
General conduct
Follows the correct procedures for Holiday requests, and the reporting of Absence/Sickness.
Person Specification
Specified Tasks
Ensures the Quality department carries out those tasks as identified by the 'QC Duties matrix'
Carry out any other duties as directed by the General Manager
General Tasks
Ensures product quality, integrity and traceability at all times through the utilisation, control, administration and management of the Quality Procedures.
Ensures all practises comply with the clients Quality Management System.
Custodian of the training records and the vehicle for obtaining training on site.
To be the first point of contact with the customer with regard to Product issues.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications
You must have:
Intermediate working towards/Higher Food Hygiene
Audit Training
GMP Training
We would also like:
H & S - Managing Safely (RA's and SSOW)
Intermediated HACCP Training
COSHH Training
Essential Experience
At least 5yr in a QA/QC role
At least 3yrs + at Supervisory level
At least 1yrs in a food production environment
Salary Package
Hours Worked 40hrs - Due to the nature of this role and its requirement to have a fair degree of customer contact, the role is day based. From time to time addition hours may be required meet the needs of the business which may involve working outside of this pattern
