Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who specialises in generator protection control & instrumentation systems. This position will be based in the Leicestershire area.

Person Specification

Experience in the areas listed below would be valuable although training will be provided where necessary.

The design and manufacture of electrical equipment / control panels is essential including experience of equipment up to 13.8kV.

Responsible for design of generator control and protection panels, equipment panels for power management systems and specification of generator excitation systems and generator auxiliary equipment such as instrumentation transformers and grounding systems.

The ability to understand and work to relevant national and international standards and customer technical specifications is essential.

Knowledge of software based control systems, PLCs and SCADA systems would be valuable.

Experience with Eplan would also be useful.

Candidates should have good written and oral skills and should be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively as part of an engineering team.

Awareness of commercial issues and an understanding of market led product development issues is essential.

The position will be based in Loughborough but occasional brief periods of work may be required at the company’s sites in continental Europe or on customers’ sites which may be overseas or offshore.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must ideally hold a degree in electrical / electronics engineering or a closely related subject and have achieved or be working towards Chartered Engineer status.
