Job Description

We are looking for an accounts clerk, reporting directly to the Finance Accountant you will be working in Leicester at 37 hours pw.

1. To input all transactions within the banking/cashbook systems

2. To input all transactions within inventory/cost account department

3. Reconcile bank accounts

4. Monitor bank balances within the electronic systems and ensure no overdrafts are created and surplus funds are appropriately invested.

5. Able to explain all deviations within accounts impacted.

6. Assist in the preparation of VAT, Intra Stat returns, National Statistics and IPR returns.

7. Assist in inventory account reconciliations

8. Assist in regular stock counting program

9. Maintain fixed assets register

10. Create and post journals

11. Able to prepare accounts to final trial balance stage

12. Administer the Company Records retention system

13. Any other duties as necessary and appropriate to the position.

Person Specification

I need somebody with enthusiasm and ambition, you should have initiative and a cooperative attitude working well in a team. It goes without saying that you need to be a good problem solver and be able to take on additional responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

AAT qualified or actively studying

Part qualified ACCA/CIMA

Minimum 3yrs experience in a highly professional change driven environment.

Previous examples of having performed reconciliations.

Examples of having managed change projects and added value to the bottom line.

Excellent Excel skills

Preferably but not essentially, experience working within a SOX environment.

Salary Package
